Centre for Sport and Recreation Research (CSRR)
Welcome from the Director
The Centre for Sport and Recreation Research (CSRR) – a new centre, with a new take on sport and recreation research.
CSRR is a first of a kind partnership between the Curtin University and the Department of Sport and Recreation in Western Australia.
The partnership is at the forefront of explorative and applied research in sport and recreation. From climate change to club culture, technology to workplace health and public open space to urban planning this centre is about translating research into practical, usable outcomes to guide government and industry decision making and practice.
What we do
CSRR provides an independent perspective for viewing the horizon and beyond in order to identify issues that will:
- Impact sport and recreation decision making
- Benefit from sport and recreation association
How we do it
CSRR operates by drawing together multi-discipline teams to undertake research that informs decision makers.
The teams generally comprise academics who contribute specific knowledge and research strengths and on-the-ground experts from industry and government.
